The Atelier

The working studio , accord architect, perfumer DNA quiz, memory engine, and mailing list.

Creative Formulation

Accord Architect

Describe a memory, a place or a feeling in plain words. Your words are read by the same rules as the Scent Translator, offline in your browser, and matched to the teaching accord on record whose odour descriptors are closest. You see that accord’s own components and teaching parts, from its record. A way into the accords, not a formula: nothing here is a commercial perfume formula or a recipe for skin.

Plate ORG-2The architect’s shelf: the organ’s middle tier, modelled and rendered for this educational archive. The vials are blank-labelled; nothing here is for sale.

Nothing you type leaves this page: the matching runs in your browser, and nothing is stored or sent. Without JavaScript, the teaching accords are listed on their own pages.

Describe a memory, a place or a feeling; the accord whose descriptors are nearest your words is shown with its record’s components.

Why did one change matter? The Causal Debugger changes one component of a teaching accord at a time and follows it through the records, never a house formula: start with the rose.

Olfactory Profile

Your Perfumer DNA

Six questions. From your answers: your olfactory tendencies, your blind spots, the accord families you gravitate to, and three fragrances to go and smell , not a generic category. Your answers stay in this page; nothing is stored or sent.

Memory & Scent

Olfactory Memory Engine

Smell reaches the brain’s memory and emotion regions by an unusually short route , one reason a scent can bring a memory back whole. Describe a specific memory as precisely as you can, and the house’s library of scent associations will map it to an accord and the materials behind it. It runs in your browser; nothing is stored or sent.

Your memory, mapped, appears here

The more precise the memory, the more particular the materials.

Your visit, as an accord

An accord sketch

While a page is open, the materials you linger on are counted in this tab, as top, heart and base notes. On request the sketch draws them as an engraved card: the proof flacon, its liquid tinted by what held you, and a constellation of the materials.

Only this page’s visit: what you linger on here, counted in memory while the page is open. Nothing is stored or sent, and it is gone when you leave or reload.
