HombreOils preserves vintage materials shaped by the flower culture, extraction expertise and creative ambition of Grasse. Precious absolutes, characterful concretes, rich resinoids and specialist fractions meet historic house bases in an exceptional private collection. Their original names, recorded years and treatment grades give today’s perfumers a direct way into the craft of another era.

An era held in scent
The collection crosses the great vocabulary of twentieth-century perfumery: flowers transformed into absolutes and concretes; woods, roots and gums drawn into resinoids; brilliant essences and precise fractions; animalic shadows; and complete bases composed to give a formula its signature.

Grasse united flower growing, distillation, enfleurage, solvent extraction and perfume composition. HombreOils carries the material language of that world, from rose, jasmine and orris to oakmoss, labdanum, castoreum and rare house specialities.

These materials were made to be smelled, compared and composed. Each one offers a distinct colour for the organ: lift, bloom, texture, shadow, diffusion or lasting depth.

Recorded years place each material within an earlier era of extraction and composition. Its history becomes another point of connection between the perfumer’s palette and the craft of its makers.

HombreOils opens this preserved palette to contemporary perfumers, fragrance houses and collectors, inviting new formulas to begin with materials carrying a genuine sense of perfumery history.
The Calchauvet lineage
Calchauvet emerged in January 1999 from the union of historic businesses associated with CAL (Camilli, Albert & Laloue) and Pierre Chauvet. The preserved catalogue carries this industrial lineage through numerous recorded attributions and treatment marks such as MD/DM, SPD, rectification and purification.
Danisco’s surviving company history abbreviates the merger parties as “C.A.I.” and “Chauvet”; period records separately document CAL and Pierre Chauvet et Cie. The expanded names are therefore presented as a source-qualified historical interpretation.
